This afternoon we took Juliet for what we suspect was her first swim. She was remarkably game, as long as I didn't get her head wet. In fact, she was even pretty good the few times when I slipped up and got her mouth wet--rather than sputtering, gagging, and getting upset, she appears to have bubbled and then decided to taste the
water (note that tasting appears to be her preferred mode for getting to know anything). I'm not convinced that this makes her a fish like her father, Auntie Celeste, and Auntie Mish, but it is at least an auspicious sign. Better still, the swimming pool seems to have temporarily cleaned out Juliet's runny nose in a way that no combination of tissues and wipes has so far been able to do.
Oh, sorry. Was that parental oversharing? I'll have to learn not to gross you non-parental (or is that pre-parental?) types out.
